PADRES HOST NZ SUPERCITY TOURING SIDE AND QLD GIRLS BANDITS

As usual, there is no rest for the Padres family, with Talobilla yesterday playing host to eight visiting teams from New Zealand and Queensland Girls’ Bandits in a carnival-like atmosphere.

Yet again, a huge shout out to our incredible Red Army of volunteers, allowing us to run the day without any cost to players! It is fantastic that our club players are able to experience international baseball!

Special thanks to Jonathan Southey and Alana Wildbor from NZ Super City and Geoff Wade from BQ Girls for making it such a great friendship series. All 12 teams used these scrimmage games as a lead up to the Gold Coast Classic Series commencing Friday and going through to Sunday.

Coincidently, the NZ teams headed to watch their Auckland ABL side take on Brisbane last night. Two of our local Padres U20 players, Kane Swanson and Marcus Feagaiga, were named in the Auckland squad for the five game series!
